Clackamas Dog Sports Demo Day at the Center!

Many sports represented!
There are so many ways to have fun with your dog; we've invited some local enthusiasts from a wide variety of sports and activities to come to the Center and share their knowledge with you! They have graciously agreed, and we are super excited to be hosting this fun day of exploration. Demos every 1.5-2 hours, followed by a chance for you to try out the activity with your own dog under the guidance of our demonstrators. See exactly what is involved in various sports, and find a fun activity that is a perfect fit for your dog's natural abilities!
Sports represented:
Food truck on site!
Admission: dog food or training treat donation
Rules of the Day:
- No flexi-leashes
- No in-season females
- One dog per handler
- Dogs should be over 6 months of age
- Dogs should be current on their rabies, DHPP, & bordetella
- Dogs must be under the immediate control of their handler at all times
We will be utilizing the Yellow Dog Project & DINOS (dogs in need of space) yellow ribbons or bandanas will be provided for dogs who are "in need of space" - any dog with a yellow ribbon on their leash or who is wearing a yellow bandana should be given plenty of space; do not approach these dogs (or allow your dog to approach them) without owner permission. Kelley Bollen, owner of Animal Alliances, is coming to Clackamas to share two days of amazing dog behavior information. Join us to learn even more about dogs than you already know, or get a fantastic introduction, if you're new to studying them.
Topics include:
CEU's ; Seminar is approved for Continuing Education for Oregon & Washington veterinarians, vet techs, CPDT's & CBCC's (through CCPDT)
Saturday evening, we are hosting a dinner with Kelley, for a chance to continue the dog-centric conversation.
Monday's workshop is open to shelter staff and volunteers. This is a hands-on day of behavior assessments in the morning and behavior mod in the afternoon. Space is limited!
